What other years of trans can I use
I have a 89 F 250 that has a E4OD that I had rebuilt with the needed upgrades and the shop messed it up and has been back two times and still the same so I am done dealing with that shop and looking to put a used trans back in it so what other years can I use.

Up through 1994 with no modifications. If it is 1995 or newer you have to swap the solenoid body for a 1994 or older.
Make sure you get one from the same engine and same drive, i.e., 4x2 or 4x4.

Also, if you have a diesel engine, then your torque converter has 4 studs. The '95+ diesel converters are 6 stud, so you'd use both your old pack and converter.
1989 was the first and worst year for the E4OD. Getting out of that or finding a specialists in E4OD internal hard parts, would be very wise.
