The easiest way to determine interchangeable parts is to look up that part for both vehicles. If the part numbers match, you can use either one.

The doors are the same between the 06 Navigator and the 06 Expedition. I am waiting for a bottom ball joint for the navigator before I can get it in the shop and up on the hoist. The bottom ball joint pulled the ball out of the socket on impact. The ABS and roll stability control let my daughter keep from hitting opposing traffic head on. Even with the left front wheel along for the ride. The shroud hits the fan on the passenger side and the tire dented the firewall and bent the frame. The body bolt that I can see is tilted, it was straight before. I suspect that the whole body tub is twisted on the frame. I have purchased two other 06 products to save this one. I bought the original Navigator in 07 with 30k miles. I am vested in this car, it was in excellent condition until July 11th. If the tub is bent beyond what I want to deal with I will transfer the air ride, 4wd and the complete interior to the beautiful 06 Navigator I bought. If I can save the tub I will transfer the tub and powertrain to the 06 Expedition frame I purchased today. The white one is the 2wd I purchased in the 16th.

Glad to hear everyone is OK after seeing that picture.

Your plans sound like a lot of work to salvage a 20 year old vehicle. I have an 03 Expy that I bought in 04 with 30k miles. It now has 180k miles. If mine went through something similar, I'd thank it for the memories and send it to the junk yard. Good luck.

Bought two more Navigators this week. I bought a pair of 2003 Navigators the same silver as my wrecked 06. 03-04 are the same, 05-06 are the same. The two 03s have the four cam, 32 valve 5.4 and a 4R100 trans. The 06s have the 24 valve 5.4 and the six speed ZF transmission. I got the lower ball joint installed in the wreck so I could drive it into the shop.

I am going to built one of the four cam cars as a replacement for my 06 wreck. One of the 03s is almost ad nice as my 06 was before the wreck. Progress, I retire in ten more work days and will have more time for these projects.

You seem emotionally attached to the original 06 because you've had it the longest. You've bought some great used vehicles. Scrap the 06 (potentially bent tub, potentially bent frame), pick your favorite(s) of what you've bought and move on. Enhance the favorite(s) with the other vehicles you've bought. You'll come out ahead with less effort!

The 06 is done, both the tub and frame are very bent. It bled a little at the crash scene and I put it in the air today to see where it came from. It was silicone out of the right engine mount, I originally thought it might be gear oil out of the front diff. The oil was sweet, nothing like gear oil. The front diff is dry, and after removing the axle the flange snapped back in. The whole left front frame rail is rolled in and up. The engine runs fine and now I can move it in and out of the shop to scavenge parts. I also got a check for part of my deductible because of the uninsured diver that hit us.

Thanks, we will drive the white one while I build the one on the trailer. It has the same option package as our original one. I will give the white one to one of our daughters when I am happy with the 03. This is going better than I thought it would. These have bottomed out in value so I can keep parts for the long term.

I am glad that I stripped the 06, learned a-lot of how they go together. Used some of that today pulling the 4R100 out of the 03, the smaller PCM plug goes to the transmission. I was able to free the harness and move it past a couple obstructions and the transmission came out with the harness still attached. The 03 had a new starter and it appears that someone slid the tranny back and replaced the flexplate. Transmission and transfer case had never been apart but the trans has been off the engine. All the exhaust has been apart, 4 of 7 bell housing bolts were tight #5 was lying on top.

It's always more fun taking things apart knowing you don't have to put them back together.
