Hi. I want to clean the built up residues on my door panels and steering wheel. I can scrape it off but it will cause some damage if I do that. I'm looking for a cleaner that will gently dissolve and remove the buildup.

IMHO, I would start with Simple Green and add a touch of dawn dish soap to the mix.... with a soft nylon brush it should clean up really well. I would also suggest using fairly warm to hot water as that will soften the dirt up as well. If it is being stubborn you can also (and I'm not kidding" apply a light amout of corn oil (or similar) to the surface, if it is oil based dirt, this will emulsify and then the SG/Dawn mix will lift it right up and away without damaging the materials. Specific to the steering wheel, leather grip area, afterwards condition it with any name brand product.
