I am trying to verify the correct color for the grill and rims for my 50 F2. some are saying my grill should be Argent Silver but my trucks original color was an ivory color. Someone mentioned Sungate Ivory. I also read on a forum that the rims are to be black but can't confirm that either. Can I get some clarification here. Thanks, you guys have been great.
Thanks for the info. A lot on good knowledge but no answers to my color questions.
Now, if you look at "How to restore your Ford pickup" by Brownell, it says something different, that only 1948 had Argent Tan for the recess.
As for Sungate Ivory you mention, I don't believe that color came out until 1951 and used as the grill color on the new style truck grills. I think Ford was using a more neutral ivroy, possibly paint code M-2J-137.
