I really expected to hear from the 4.30 crowd that they guy in the video was lying about having a 3.55 gear. As the 4.30 crowd would say "it has to be a 4.30 because its towing a huge load and a 3.55 cant get on the highway unloaded because they are a dog" or something like that? lol

The 10-11k I towed regularly behind mine up and down Tejon pass and Sierra Nevada passes sure couldn't tell the difference.
I found out that there is this magical button on the shifter that does crazy things like locking out gears, my 8th runs at similar rpm as a 4.88 would in 10th. Imagine that, only 8 speeds to work with, how can anyone live like that and not able to do the whole trip in 10th gear, I know.

That's why I bought a 3.73. I figured with a 10 speed, the engine could still find its own happy place, but I'd still have the potential for better gas mileage when not pulling.

I have the F 350 Tremor with 4.30 and it actually does alot better on MPG than I thought it would. It smokes my 19 F350 6.2 with 3.73 that thing was 10.6 mpg all day this 4.30 gears is 12.6-13 running 70-75 all day.
3.73 here. Mine is a work truck, weekend trailering with a single axel trailer or worst case a loaded car trailer <10k.
I lock out 9-10 in 55-60mph, 10th until speeds crest 75. Lots of hills and I hate doing the mash, the pedal mash as the programming is happy with 50% pedal at <1600 rpm and no downshifts.
Thought about the paddle upgrade for the shifting but I’m used to flicking the button all the time. On my loop up the mountain on the way home, I’m locked out in 5th, when my old *** plantar fasciitis feet push they want immediate response. Locking out gears works for me and I still average 13mpg.
A good tune and exhaust would help, but for my use the 3.73 is perfect, I don’t mind the flick.
