Discovered a leak from the lower rad hose today. While shopping Rock Auto I see lower hoses described as straight or as curved. I think I need the straight? But the pics can be so misleading. This is one of those cases where it should be 50/50 but in reality woupd be 90% probability I get home with the wrong part. Any advise is appreciated! Truck details in signature.
Someone put worm clamps on it before my time which was 80k miles ago back in 2017. Ive never had an issue with it in that time. It was cold overnight but warm today. I spent some time in the sun while I was out in the wild driving it today and it felt nice without a jacket in short sleeves. These hoses are old for sure. My pump exits in what id consider straight, something between 3 and 4 o'clock
That's the newer style straight inlet. Those worm gear clamps are kind of flimsy. Might just need to tighten it a bit.
Riff-raff makes an aluminum straight inlet and silicone hoses if you feel like spending money. Looks like you've already got the aluminum thermostat housing.
Yeah I tried loosening and moving the clamp some and cranking it back down and its still leaking so probably time to replace the hose.
does that mean I need a "straight hose" or a hose for the straight inlet? Cleatus made it sound like straight for curved pump, curved for straight pump?
