Truck threw a P0628 on startup today. Fuel pump A control circuit low. Truck had an AirDog on it and runs great idle to cruising. Cleared the code and drove for awhile without it coming back on. Anyone else had this issue?
poking around here and google I didn’t see anything, only came across commonrail Cummins threads but not many resolutions in them.
or..do you have some method to ensure fuel is at pressure before starting….
i do the start on the second ding sound…I have measured my startup fuel pressure and at the second ding sound I’m at psi. Before the second ding sound I am not at psi and at the third ding sound I’m no longer at psi and have to repeat the start process.
awhile back there was a how to start your diesel with success video link floating around and basically the theme of the video was to not start your diesel the way you would start a gas truck.

key on for five seconds or so before starting to make sure the fuel line to the injection pump is bled out. Been doing it since I could drive. Don’t have a fuel pressure gauge on the truck currently but may need to put some gauges in. Haven’t had the truck that long

food that you have a system….
at 3 seconds the stick pumps stops and the psi bleeds down…so…how is the air dog connected…
on my 2019, the stock wiring shuts the pump off after 20 seconds of key on. So at 30 seconds the psi drops and I have to recycle the ignition on button to start it. If I don’t…sometimes I get low fuel psi codes.
