I ran a code reader on my 94 2.3 supercab and it says fuel pump secondary circuit fault. Im wondering exactly what and where it is??

 

What was the code you got? There are some relays, mass airflow sensor, purge valve that could be considered as secondary circuits. How is the engine running?

 

If it's a code 542, then it might not be a problem. I think that code can be set when the engine shuts down prematurely (i.e., a stall condition). It doesn't necessarily mean you have a fuel pump circuit problem.

If it's a 542 code and the truck is running fine, then clear it, drive around for a while, and see if it returns. Good chance it won't.

 

It was code # 543. The engine sputters and coughs at idle and seems to lack power. I have replaced fuel filter.

 

A secondary fuel pump problem normally means you have a wiring relay orproblem in the cicuit that powers the pump(s).
