Intermittent Fuel Pump

03 PSD, Been having issues where it will lose virtually all power, it will barely idle and if i shut it off it won't start..If i leave it for 5 mins it will start up fine. I've had 2 previous pump failures and fuel contamination issues, today i dropped the tank, drained and cleaned it, flushed the lines, put new fuel filters on it and got it back together, after driving approx 25 miles, it did it again..Is it possible that the fuel pump is failing intermittently? If i can get a code reader, will it throw a Low fuel pressure code? I want to be sure before i order one as they aren't cheap.

Sounds like your ICP could be failing. Try unplugging it and see if your symptoms change.

sounds like possibly a FICM issue.....a code reader would help out regardless....at least point you in a direction maybe...Just a thought

I've already replaced the ICP with a second gen unit so i don't imagine that's the issue.

Have the fuel pressure checked, if the pump or fuel pump relay is going bad the pressure will be low or irratic. also cam sensor?, it's uncommon but not unheard of. good luck.

Well, i just found one on ebay brand new in box for $49.99.......So i guess for that price it's worth a shot. The dealer wanted $437 when i called this afternoon

I should add that i've also noticed the following after monitoring for the last few days

1.It will only give me trouble when under 1/2 tank.
2.Highway/steady driving is fine, usually acts up after coming to a stop, idle
