My rockers have been kept in good shape. fender wells arent great but have been spared major rust so far. Id like to give them some more life. We have a hot rain-free week coming up in NJ. I wanted to hose out my rockers and wheel wells of any dirt and salt. Let it dry good and then spray some type of oil based coating inside each.
yes, worth it. Easier to spray from the back of the rocker - lots of openings there. I couldn't believe how much muck came out. I then covered the inner openings with Gorilla tape. That was probably 7-8 years ago and tape is still on and zero rust.
FLUID FILM everything underneath after you get it clean.
renew once a year.
here is evidence it keeps corrosion under control on Wet Cell batteries

and the Driver side, note there is Zero corrosion,
FLUID FILM is the only thing I have used on them.
I also spray the batteries in my Golf Cart with it.

awesome- thanks for that first hand account! I am doing everything next week. 5 full days of rust busting and prevention. I will do this from back of the rocker!

If you have a pressure washer order a short, slightly curved detailing wand, it makes it easy to flush out that area where the plastic liner meets the steel lip of the fender. I feel my way with one hand while holding the wand with the other, but be careful because you can cut your hand on that edge so go gently. We don't have any road salt here but I do this when I return from driving on the beach to get all the salt laden beach sand out. I also have an undercarriage sprayer that fits the power washer, it rolls along on wheels and sprays straight upwards with four nozzles.
