Timing pointer for a carbed 5.0 HO in a 1965 f100
Hello all, I am in the works of taking a donor 5.0 HO from a 1995 Mustang GT, and going to a carburetor system to put into a 1965 F100. The issue I have is that there was no timing pointer when I pulled it out of the donor vehicle. I’ve been searching the web and trying to buy a cheap pointer, I don’t need a fancy billet one, an OEM would do the pointing job just fine haha. Anyways, I’ve seen there’s 10, 11, and even 2 o clock pointers. Does it matter that I’m going to carb it? Does that change what pointer I need? Do I stick to the original pointer? And if so, which one do I go with? I’m running an MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run Distributors 835231, as far I know it’s “cammed” per the guys I bought the donor from a decade ago, but I’m going with it’s just a roller alphabet cam as some of the forums have suggested.
