06 F250 OIL COOLER ISSUES

Good morning,
So I have an 06 F-250 which I believe is having oil cooler issues. I have a pretty hefty oil leak that seems to be coming from the oil cooler area and I am getting oil in the dgas bottle. Also, checked the temps and there is definitely a 15 degree or higher difference between engine temp and oil cooler temp.
I called to see how much it would be to replace oil cooler and they quoted me like $1800.
The question is, how long can I run the truck with this issue before it becomes catastrophic?
I don't have the $$ to fix right now. Just trying to buy myself some time.

I would really have a good look at where the oil leak is coming from before I would dig into that project. There are some other things in the valley that could cause a leak aside from the oil cooler.

Head on over to the 6.0 section of the forum and read some of the material in the stickies. There are flushing procedures that will be very important to do properly.
