Lifts, Wheels, & Tires

I know there's a similar older thread already but I figured I would see if we could get it going again with some more recent stuff. Let's post pictures of our trucks with lift, wheel, tire size, and any comments about ride or rubbing. I put a 4" lift on my 90' and have been trying to figure out what tires I want. I know there's others just like me looking for examples so I'm trying to find some answers for myself and hopefully make it easier for other guys in the future.

This is my 1990 with a 4" Rough Country Lift with the 31x10.50R15 tires still on it (still a work in progress). I'm thinking about going to a 33x10.50R15 so that I don't have to buy new wheels right now but idk if that will look dumb, I know a 12.50 would look better and I've had plenty of ppl say I could put 12.50's on the stock wheels but it just doesn't seem safe to me as they only measure 7.5" wide. Buckshot 2 has a 33x10.50R15 for $187.

Those pictures look photoshopped.

From the side a 33" tire will look better.

It is a bit confusing how the ground is blurry, but the tires are not.

Very nice, clean looking truck.

33s are a good size, nothing too over the top. You could probably squeeze 35s if you wanted without too much issue. But you'd probably need wider wheels as you've mentioned.

Anything bigger then that starts to get alot more expensive.

I run the 37s on my truck. Id wager its got a 4" ish lift. The 350 sits a bit higher normally then a 150 so not an apples to apples comparison.

Running 31's with stock gearing will work well but after that you start to hurt the performance unless you have at least 4.10's. What engine are you running? What is your axle ratio? All important facts to know when you start going bigger in tire size.

Agreed, do not fear the gear. My 302/AOD and 275/60R15s has 4.10:1 gears. The 4.9/M5OD with 235/75R15 (or whatever is stock) will have 3.55:1 gears once I shake it down.

People mainly focus upon tire height, never the immense amount of mass added with the mud terrain style tires or extra wide ones. Plus half ton brakes are pretty weenie

Since you guys are talking tires and wheels ... I bought an '88 f-150 4x4 ... It came with custom wheels that are 15" - 10" wide and have a 2" offset. I have 235-75-15 on my old truck ... Would those work/ look good on the 10" rims ... I'm thinking about that

No reputable tire shop would mount those tires on a 10' wide rim, max would be 8". Besides 10" wide rims exposes the sidewalls more then an 8" rim. I run 10.50 x 15" x 33" tall on Ford 7.5" and have good sidewall protection. Put those on a 10" wide rim and my sidewalls are exposed far more then I want.

4" Suspension Lift, Buckshot 2 tires 33x12.50 on the stock 7.5x15 rim. No spacers, barely grazes radius arm at full lock

Lol it's called blurring the background so people and have a bit of privacy. Lol I helped slim several times on this build and I'll tell ya, this man did an excellent job. I laughed at him when he wanted to pull the cab to sandblast the whole frame, but I'm glad he did. The truck is better than it was new and I'm jealous I didn't have the patience nor inclination at the time to sandblast mine (endall rust chemical and paint on mine). Great job slimreaper. You pulled it off very well. Bumpers look awesome.
