I had a P2195 code and idling was bad. Idling would fall below 1000RPM to 500 and shut off. The mechanic checked for vacuum leak - none. He said the MAF and O2 sensor (upstream) had to be changed. Both sensors were changed. Idling was still bad but not as it was before. 2 days later I got the same code and now my car lurches forward and rpms drop to below 500 that caused the car to shut off 2X. HELP!!!
Long list of things that could cause this error: https://www.obd-codes.com/p2195
The page also gives some tips on how to diagnose which part may be causing the issue. Sounds like some torubleshooting was done my the mechanic but not enough.
The codes indicate that the engine control believes the engine is running rich since the 02 sensor would be stuck or indicate lean.
You or the mechanic should double check for vacuum leaks as that is the most explainable cause given that the O2 and MAF sensors were already replaced and folks were working on the engine. You would be looking for a cracked or disconnected vacuum line. (Besides visual and audible whistling noise of a vacuum lead, YouTube has videos showing how this is done with a propane bottle and rubber hose while the engine is running.)
I’m believing that he did those successfully, but would be good to have the readout of the sensors to check that there wasn’t an oversight related to intermittent shorting lines of the O2 sensor as well.
