Found this in my valley, any ideas?

Hey guys I was cleaning out my valley the other day as I have a oil leak and found this ball bearing laying right in the first channel behind the hpop. Any ideas where this could have come from? I suspect that my oil leak is coming from the front cover where it mounts to the block underneath the hpop but the leak seems to have gotten worse so wasn't sure if this little ball bearing may have something to do with it or it may be just a coincidence.

I know there is a check ball in the HPOP where the IPR goes.....non serviceable plug area. I would think it wouldn't run if that were missing though.

Not sure how big the one is that goes in the front cover, as I haven't ever seen one.

I was thinking about the check ball that's in the block underneath the square plug right next to the front cover since that is very close to where my leak is. I don't think it's possible for that ball to make it's way out though, I've never seen it either

There are a few check ***** in the HPOP.....has it been out by a PO? Is that a plastic or metal check ball?

To small to be the short circuit valve ball. Could be non serviceable plug ball I suppose. I could see someone thinking they could pull the plug to fix a leak with the hpop still installed and promptly loosing the ball. Or it could just be from some punk kid and his Red Rider.

The check ball is metal. I replaced the hpop about a year ago with a brand new Bosch from riffraff. I have cleaned the valley many times since then but this ball all of a sudden showed up. Just weird, I suppose it could have made its way up there from the road.

Everyone keeps talking about the ball..
I see 1/64th of a cup of coffee at todays prices.

But it may be a check ball or the ball out of the 3/8 inch ratchet socket lock that broke.
