Top one should be for your key fob when the battery dies so you can still start your truck. No idea if the one in the cup holder serves any purpose.

On the F-150 with console shifter the dead key fob goes in that cup holder location. It's possible that the SD just uses the same molded part.

I keep an emergency fund in smaller mixed bills in that compartment - for just in case scenarios.

The cut-out in the bottom of the forward/right cup holder is so you can have your phone charger attached, but the phone can still sit top-up instead of upside-down… or at least that’s my use/assumption.

The thieves that tore into my truck took that apart too. They didn't go under the back seat however. I moved my gun safe there
