Key upgrade
The keys are $36 for the pair, the first thing I did was program the key fobs and tested them a bunch to make sure they work.
Once that was done I removed the tumbler by turning the key to the ON position and inserting a small screwdriver into the release pin underneath the steering column.
Obviously the bat wings need to be trimmed
The old key sits down into the bat cave
We definitely have a problem here
I taped the key edges to not get sharpie all over it and setup my fancy template maker
And that's all you need. It doesn't need to be perfect as you won't go all the way to the lines. You just need to general shape.
Ready to Dremel
Be sure to tape inside, you don't want to fill the tumbler with plastic shavings.
After some sanding you should be left with this.
That's it, I was going to cut the key via Dremel, but.... I figured I'd bring it to the hardware store and pay the $6 each
