E4OD Blinking Overdrive light, now no shift in a 96
Fluid is full and clean, has been driving fine and shifts with no issues.
No transmission code has come up in the 500+ miles that I have been waiting them to.
Last Friday I cleaned the shift solenoid plug, as I read it was a common issue.
Used a dry vacuum to suck up all loose debris. Sprayed the plug and socket down with CRC electronic cleaner.
Left everything to dry for about 2 hours, then came back and sucked anything loose with the vacuum.
Plugged it back in, and the overdrive light no longer blinks.
But, now the truck will not shift into 2nd...
Still no transmission codes.
Dropped pan, and inspected and cleaned all valve bodies. Before oiling them back up, I shook each one to make sure it moved freely back and forth.
Only friction material on magnet.
Tested the MLPS, and its ohms are all within range.
Tested the solenoid pack via this video
EPC (4.5 Ohms)
Shift Sol. B (20.9 Ohms)
Shift Sol. A (21.2 Ohms)
TCC Sol. (21.2 Ohms)
Coast Clutch Sol. (21.0 Ohms)
TOT Sensor (20,600 Ohms)
Using the air with power applied testing all solenoids engage, and seated as intended.
Got everything cleaned, moving, oiled, torqued, and sealed. New fluid + TC topped up.
Basically nothing was wrong with any of the valves, or springs.
Back where I started, and same issue. (Blinking overdrive button, no code, and no shift into 2nd.)
I am looking for some sources on testing the connector and ECM pins to see if there are bad or severed connections somewhere.
If I am understanding correctly I need to test the transmission fluid temperature sensor, and connections.
[Edit]: I just realized its on the solenoid body, and I already tested it when it was pulled, it had the correct ohm range. So it has to be the connector, or a short in the line from the connector to the pcm.
