300 clutch fan

I've got a 300 out of a later model truck in my '70 and it has a clutch fan on it. I need a new water pump. It's a lot of trouble getting this clutch fan off. What the opinions on keeping the clutch fan, vs going back to the old-school fan on the engine that came out of the the truck? Just the 1 or 2 horsepower I'd probably gain with the clutch fan?

Been a few days but I dont see why you cant get a water pump for your year truck and use your fan.
Not knowing what year motor but the 80 - 86 trucks that had factory AC used clutch fans.
My 81 F100 is using a bolt on fan with factory AC with out any issues.
