Company truck. I flew to Fargo North Dakota, drove it to Billings Montana, 610 miles. when I left Fargo the dpf was 50%, driving 55 mph for the first 150 miles because I94 was horrible. About 20 miles into the trip the dpf was full and went into regen, 30 miles later it was at 45% and stopped the regen.
about 50 miles later same thing but only cleaned to 55%
another 50 miles regen again down to 55%
road got a little better, sped up to 65, Regens about every 30 miles and only cleaning to 65% after 200 miles road was good and speed up to 72, being a commercial vehicle with an 800 gallon fuel tank (empty) I can only drive 10 hours and didn't want to have to stop and spend the night less than 100 miles from my destination.
at 72 mph the truck stayed in regen for the rest of the trip, I had to stop and fuel every 100 to 150 miles.
2 times I got the filter overloaded message and stopped and did a stationary regen, would only get down to 50%, both times it was full in less than 15 miles.
take it to ford this morning, no trailer, 18miles it went from 50% to 75%
they did 2 stationary Regens and got it down to 25%, reflashed the pcm and said it was done. 18 miles back to the airport and it is at 75%.
this truck has had this problem since new, goes to Ford 4 to 6 times a year, ford dealers in 5 different states and no one can figure it out. Dpf replaced 2 yeas ago.
it only got this bad on this trip.
Clean your map sensor…these sensors clog and results in the Ecu really not knowing intake air pressure
run 15w40 pure synthetic when possible due to weather temps…15w40 pure synthetic foams less than 5w40 blends …the oil foaming is an issue since oil foam gets sucked into the intake via the ccv hose ….running at super high speeds only makes this worse.
drove it this morning,
left the airport at 75% 15 miles later it is full and in regen for 35 miles regen ends, soot level 65% 15 miles later soot full in regen, stayed in regen until I stopped at the airport, soot level at 65%
85 miles total yesterday and today to go from 25% to full down to 65% back to full back down to 65%
used almost 1/3 tank of diesel in 85 miles.
The only code it throws is for incomplete regen in the required time. Exhaust tips are shiny, 76119 miles on it as of today.
my boss is going to the ford dealer in paso robles Monday and getting a copy of all the invoices on this truck so I can graph the maintenance history.
being that this truck is in so many states each dealer wants to start at square 1, which has been done many times. They refuse to look at the maintenance history and start where the last dealer left off.
my boss is so pissed at ford he is now buying dodges. He told me yesterday if someone had a new truck and could transfer everything to it in a week to buy a new truck on my company credit card.

I was planning on checking the map sensor, we have had nothing but heavy rain since I got this truck so I haven't done it yet
but this has also been a problem since new and only ford has ever changed the oil.
Bart, I think checking the MAP sensor and replacing it might help you.
Also when cold, what are the reading for the DPF and EGT sensors?
I didn't bring my Bluetooth dongle with me so I can't see what the sensors are doing with forscan, and my auto enganuity dongle only goes to 2012. And AE can't make new ones to sell due to chip shortages.
