Howdy,
On my 2003 FX4 Ranger with the manual tranny and T/C, picked up in Oct last year (2022) with just under 200K. I've put around 2K miles on it. The clutch, flywheel, master and slave cylinders were all replaced (documented by a reliable shop at 189K) in Dec. 2021. One reason I bought the truck was it had a fairly new clutch & I liked how the clutch was setup - it engaged low (about 1/3rd from floor). Today I returned from a short drive, about 25 miles, partly on washboard dirt roads - something I do frequently - pulled into my drive way with no problems. My driveway has a slight downward slope to the garage. I get in to go to the store after about 15 minutes of being home. When I go to back up, the clutch is now engaging about 2/3rds off the floor. With my driveway slope, the clutch bite is noticed immediately. I check the fluid (just for grins) & it's fine - so no leaks. If it had air in the lines, needed bleeding or low on fluid, it would have the opposite symptom I would think - clutch wouldn't be pulled away from flywheel as far when disengaged or pedal all the way to the floor. I've seen that on other rigs I've owned with a hydraulic clutch. I'm wondering if the vibration from frequently driving on washboard roads has changed the way the clutch is adjusted. It still functions, but my confidence in the durability of this rig is challenged and I'm hoping it won't get worse.

Thanks in advance for any knowledgeable suggestions.
