Why is my auto transmission 5 speed? 2002 f350 dually 7.3

Why is my auto transmission 5 speed? 2002 f350 dually 7.3

My 2002 f350 literally has 5 speed (4 Plus overdrive (4th gear)
the 3rd gear has two gears.
Is this normal.?

no its not stuck.
No the torque converter isn't jammed

Each gear works great.
When it shifts RPMs go down and continues on
1 to 2
2 to 3
3rd to 3rd again
then 4th gear.

That is normal?

torque converter locking still in gear 3
shift to 4(od) and lock torque converter generally almost instantly when it shifts into 4th

the tc lock in 3rd can feel like a shift, it isnt, however, it is normal

the TC locking in thrid will lower the rpms, like a shift?

I have a edge evolution and I can watch when the TC locks

here is the video

the 2nd time it shifts in 3rd doesn't show as a TC lock as per the edge...
and the RPMs definitely change on the second 3rd gear shift...

Could the edge be slow in the display ing of the gear lock?
its is immediate when it drops from a locked position to shift gears on the edge display

As stated above that is 1-2, 2-3, TC lock then 3-4. The edge monitors all have a significant delay on showing when the coverter locks. It is locking on what you feel is a second 3rd gear shift, the Edge is just slow to show that change.

Appreciate the feedback... from both of you expressing the answer
The only thing that made sense is the Edge had a long latency on reporting the lock
and the RPM "shift" feeling was the rpm loss from going from fluid drive to mechanical lock. saving 400 RPMs when it locked

It all looks normal, and yes the edge has a delay in showing lockup, it does it with my truck as well. These are pulse width modulated converter engagement, and I believe the edge is allowing time for it to be considered 100 percent engaged.
