Thought I'd take a moment to share some of the progress to date on the F100. It''s not perfect, but considering its me and my 14-year old daughter doing the work with no prior knowledge, I'm pleased. I guess its a 25 footer - looks really good from 25 feet. But it's progress. The final color will be red - we're going to sandblast and repaint - but we've been using the truck as a canvas to practice paint technique and learn.
We're going to tackle the starter this weekend and hopefully we'll get it running again.
Appreciate all your help and suggestions along the way to get us this far.
I was going to say what great shape that truck's in for a WV truck (my dad's trucks would start to rust holes through the fenders in a couple years, even undercoated.) My father in law drove Fords but even then he didn't keep them longer than 3 or 4 years. Fords always did better in that salt than Chevies or GMCs.
Then I saw the NC plates on it.
It's going to be a sharp looking truck when you get the final color on it.
Is that a horseshoe around the steering column down there on the firewall? For good luck?
