I just picked up an old ranch truck from a friend of a friend & drove it back home to discover I have an opening underneath my carbs & would love help diagnosing it.
My bread & butter is in European cars so these American trucks are new to me.
The opening is right next to where my brake boost line (coming off the exhaust manifold underneath my carb) - I'm trying to find an accurate diagram to tell me if i need to plug this hole or run a hose to / from it.
It doesn't look like there are any extra hoses lying around waiting to be plugged into it, so im a bit stumped
please disregard the dirty filth around the engine,
She spent all her life on a ranch and is need of a solid detailing.

Unless I'm looking at your pic wrong that is the vacuum tree on your intake manifold and that hole needs to be plugged if not in use, or you will have a vacuum leak there which could certainly contribute to a "rough idle".
