Hoping someone here is also running a 351W with a C6 transmission. If so, can you please tell me the size of your transmission dipstick. I am pretty certain mine is incorrect. Thank you for your help!
thanks for that info. All of my Google searches have thrown a few different sizes at me unfortunately. A couple different ones I found said 25 3/4” so I am not positive at this point.
Okay,I went out and measured the length of the dip stick that is on the C6 transmission I have which was out of a 1983 F150 attached to a 5.8 litre engine. depth of oil pan is 2 inches from the flat bottom to the top lip of pan. Dip stick tube measured from the casing to top of tube is 20-3/4 inches. The actual dip stick length is 25- 1/4 inches in length measured from under the cup of the handle. From the tip of the stick to the full mark is 2 inches.
I'm wondering if there could be a difference in lengths of the sticks depending what the transmissions came out of. Thinking one from a car might be shorter that one from a truck but as long as the stick and tube were a match things would be okay..

this is awesome and exactly what I was looking for. I had seen the measurement of 25 3/4 inches come up a few times on the Internet searches and it looks like you are right on with that if that stick was a little more straight, so that makes sense to me. Thank you for taking the time to do this and sending me this info!
