Hello all, I have been waiting on a motor for my 2016 F350 since June 24th. Bad fuel wiped out HPFP and that wreaked havoc. Anyways, the shop that has my truck is telling me that there is still no ETA on a motor. I was hoping someone on here knows better than me about the supply and demand of these motors? Insurance is covering parts and labor so it has to be OEM, I am not sure if this is where the delay is or if someone is just bs'ing me. Thanks for all the input and the information you guys supply on this site.

Hey welcome to the Club here... sorry to hear about your truck bud...
How many miles on yours? Reading through here, there seems to truly be a problem with short block supply.
Did they test your fuel to see what it was? I'll assume water...
Yes, my mechanic suggested I call insurance to see if they would send an adjuster out. He sent me a picture of the fuel out of the tank. It was cloudy and full of dark particles. My insurance company had the fuel tested, it was water and other misc. particles. I always try to go to high volume stations figuring the turn around for new fuel is more frequent. There are 126,XXX miles.
In our diesel pickup, I check the fuel every time before fill up in a half gallon glass jar. In 11 years I've only driven away from gas stations twice due to contaminates. I only go to high volume stations.
Diesel always foams and shuts off the pump before tank is fuel. It's no problem to poor the half gallon into the tank as soon the foam settles.
National back order from Ford. I had to replace the motor in my 2016 f250 this past month. Beings i could not let mine sit for any length of time, Just under $10k with $1300 core on a used motor with 127k miles. Motor replaced was at 117k miles. I cant say for certain but it don't look good anytime soon for a new motor man. The terrible thing is a guy on one of these forums was saying he got one from Ford for $7500, just last year in 2021
