Hello, this is a bit of a cross post, but I just discovered there’s a y block section so maybe I can ask here. My truck has no timing pointer on water pump. I have a nice white mark on the balancer but no pointer. Now I’ve read several places that it should be below the water pump, driver’s side. The pointers (and a picture) show it should be on the passenger side. Which should it be on a 64? I also read it changed after 63? When I hooked my timing light up the mark was at about 10 o’clock, which tells me it should be left of the damper. I ask because I’m inexperienced and I just can’t quite get it perfect yet. Thanks.
For us old timers with not so great vision. Looking at the original, I had to DL and zoom to locate it. I edited it even though I know where it is on my 64 292. I even added a dab of bright paint on mine to make it easier to find.
