E4OD not shifting properly. (Gear selector issue, not transmission)
'93 F150, 4.9L E4OD, 2WD
The tube that sits on top of the steering column broke, I replaced it. Following that the truck wouldn't want to fully go into park, when parked on an incline the parking pawl wouldn't hold and it would roll back while popping the pawl.
I followed this how-to on adjusting the linkage and it didn't really help. I was able to get park, but it won't go into 2nd or 1st gear.
Anyone have any ideas what might be up?

The outer tube had cracked as they sometimes do, I replaced it and the inner shaft because I was in there. Also replaced the bushings. Swapped over the pivot points and the gear selector handle.

OK so it's not your trans. Your column or linkage is jacked up. Perhaps the repair to the column was not correctly done?
