48-52 Running Boards

I was at the AACA swap meet in Nashville this morning and saw two sets of running boards for sale marked 48-52 Ford truck. Both sets were shorties, ala flatbed. I almost bought a set for $50 but I wasn't sure how much they were in demand. I am an F100 guy so not aware of F1 parts value. Did I blow it?

Yes you blew it. Always buy parts that aren't being reproduced, even if not in high demand
are you sure they weren't panel truck running boards? Very similar

$50 for a set of running boards in good condition? Man, you missed a really good deal. The shorty boards were used on all flatbed trucks from rare F-1s through F6. They were also used on panel trucks with a slight alteration on the back corner.

I don't have the room to store a lot of parts, in fact, I am going to have to get rid of a garage full of parts before the end of summer when my shop lease runs out.
This is why I passed on the running boards. What I also passed on was a set of F100 fender skirts for $50, I am sure that you would have scooped them up Kevin but once again, if they're not going on my current 56 project then they aren't coming home with me. I did tell the sellers about the F100 Grand Nats in May so you may see these parts show up there.

If they're in good condition they are. The one on that truck looks like it's been sitting on the ground, I doubt it's much good.

if stood on it

I am gonna wack the weeds and attempt to jack the whole thing up out of sinking in the ground and partially pull it back in towards the yard and away from the woods so it’s less at a disadvantage.

i need to fix a tractor tho nothing I have can move that thing even if it had air in tires. Without losing traction. I’m sure I could try and winch with my square body… it’self is a heavy as **** but it may not be an anchor enough.
