Dark Canyon Red and Light Desert Tan spray paint substitute
Luckily all that was damaged was the fender, to far damaged from me to actually repair it. This is my work/ project truck. I replaced a headlight housing that was cracker for $20 and bought a white fender off a '84 F-350 which fit well and is in nice shape. Those who have these two tone vehicles know how hard it is to find a panel with the same colors as your car. Even though its an old work truck, its such an eye sore seeing a great color combination of Dark Canyon Red with some Light Desert Tan collided with a big white fender. I'm not going to spend $30 on two cans of high end restoration paint if the paint is probably going to get scratched up and stuff. Anyone know of any substitute colors for the Dark Canyon Red and Light Desert Tan? Maybe by Rustoleum or some other brand? Yes I know I'm a cheapskate but anything helps. Thanks!
I would not do Rustoleum because I dont think you will find color close enough and be a bigger eye sore.
At lest with a white fender you know it was replaced and just not painted but a color that dose not match I think it worst in my book.
I would look at Duli-color to see if they have something that matches. You may have to order it but I would think spray can or they have pre-mix spray paint that you need a spray gun for.
Now if going that far and it may not match hit the local auto paint store as some of them can mix the matching colors and put it in spray cans and maybe thats what the $30 was from.
BTW what was used between the 2 colors, moldings or decals?
You will not be able to use any decals you find, if you can find them, as they will be bad from age.
