Need 46-47 Emergency Brake Cable for Panel or Truck
Hi-- Anyone have a cable in serviceable condition? I need the portion that runs from the brake handle in the cab to the saddle the joins the cables to the rear brakes.
The aftermarket does not appear to supply this part---the 48 and up trucks have a different (shorter) cable.
I couldn't find one either,so I made one. 1/8 inch cable ,and hard plastic hose to go from brake handle to cable mount near transmission. Not too pretty but it works and hidden.. Note!!! I looked up the part number on goggle and it sent me to a scam site that looked real, they said they had 3 for sale for 20$ each, I found out it was a scam!
Just read your post about a e-brake cable for a 47 ford truck. I have the same setup. What did you do for a cable? I am missing the cable between the brake and the saddle where it y's off. The two that go off to each wheel are broken. It appears as though all the parts at the saddle are there (although super rusty).
hi,all. I used a 1/8inch braided cable and a hard plastic tubing on the cable from the brake lever to the cable bracket on the frame above the transmission. then a turnbuckle just before the brake bracket that the cables that go to each brake. it's not pretty but it works and nobody can see it. I hope pictures help, if they load! goodluck tony
