Real wheel bearing issue
When I put the axle nut back on I can’t tighten it to spec. If I do I can’t spin the hub. I read in multiple threads to torque to 60 lb/ft and back off 5 clicks. Gets too tight to spin with less than 10 lb/ft!
I backed everything off and retightened until I have no play in the hub but can still spin it. It’s way under spec.
Either I have the wrong torque values or….
Greatly appreciate any help.

those bearings do not use grease they use differential gear oil.
“Fill the hub cavity with 29.6 ml (1 oz) of SAE
75W-140 High Performance Rear Axle Lubricant
FITZ-19580-B or equivalent meeting Ford
specification WSL-M2C192-A.“
I disassembled a wheel and triple checked the part number on the bearings. Used an old race to cross reference the part number to what was removed. All good. Noticed the inner bearing wasn’t shined up after installing the hub and giving her a spin. Tells me it wasn’t seated. Reinstalled the hub and tightened it as tight as I could muster then backed the nut off completely. Re-torqued and she spins fine. Just needed to get the seal seated better. Wasn’t aggressive enough with it.
Thank you for the comments.
