I have a 2015 F350 that the regen control is at its limit. I am having to drive my truck as a daily driver and have noticed that it will want to clean the exhaust but I am 1 minute from work. Check engine light is on. Average milage is 12.2. What can I do?
You cant just let this go. You need to ether drive the crap out of it or buy a beater to go to work in. At this point your truck never gets to operating temperature and in turn you are killing your truck. They need to get hot to be efficient. Please don't drive your truck for one minute and shut it off and dont leave it idle in the driveway. That isn't good ether. It may be time for a opil change as well. This is what we call severe duty maintenance required.
WQe would like to se a picture of your truck. You can be in it if you like.

Thank you so much. I will look into the opil change next week and yes I agree on another car as well.

What will happen if you don't drive it a message will come on the display exhaust filter full, drive to clean. If you don't it will go into reduced power mode and then you will really have issues. Generally speaking it takes about 20 miles for a full clean of the DPF. You need to get it done before you have bigger issues.
Personally, I tend to agree with this for the overall health of the diesel engine however, this is terrible advice to give to someone who's not a 'car person' and understanding of what the process entails.

That and the OP is still only driving a mile or so...not enough time to heat up the oil and drive out moisture = sludge

I need to ask a question. Is your drive to work 1 minute or is the truck saying it needs to do a regen when you are in the last minute of your drive to work?

I thought I was the only one misunderstanding how far her commute was. Certainly her commute is farther than one minute from the house. These trucks are notorious for starting a regen as we arrive to our destination. That is how I understood that statement.
The truck would not attempt a regen if the commute was actually 1 minute of run time because the minimum coolant temperature would most likely not be up to temp yet.
It will be a surprise if she returns, last seen 3 days ago.
