Hey ya'll - I'm slowly restoring this F250 I found in the Catskill Mountains, NY! Been lurking on these forums for a while and I just wanted to finally make an account so I can learn as much as I can to be able to work on this older truck. I've been searching for this particular year and style for a few years so it was surreal when I saw someone post it in the next town over. I was preparing to make it down South to avoid having to buy one here in the rust belt.. but alas the price was right. The guy was very kind, and appreciated that I intend to keep it stock, and just do a proper restoration whenever some extra money comes in. I am a young guy that started late in the game but I am very eager and motivated to have this as a daily driver for the short drive I make to get to the farm for work. Cosmetically it could use some work, but mechanically it's quite strong. I'm trying my best to sell that plow as well or just keep it to use in the winter.. I just wanted to say thank you for making this such an informative and exciting place to be. I love reading everyone's posts, and I can't wait to be a part of it even more so now. Happy July 4th Weekend as well folks!
Warmly,
Zen
P.S: I've been trying to source a 351M Oil Dipstick Tube- any places ya'll would recommend? Planning to call up some junkyards as well.

Reason: Adding Photos
That plow can be a money maker come winter time. You might keep it one winter season and see if you can make some extra $ on the side plowing parking lots ect.... But it can cause some wear and tear on the front and components. Ball joints, leaf springs ect..
Hey there- thank you for the directives! Just joined the NY State Chapter. I was leaning towards keeping the plow for just one winter season because some of the neighbors wanted me to plow for them. We get hit pretty hard with snow when we get it. It's been a PITA to get off.
It initially felt hard to be so new to this all but I am very eager to learn so I've been watching a lot of videos, and scouring these forums because there are nuggets of wisdom everywhere. I'm still learning the location of everything under the hood, but I got myself a Haynes manual and some tools to kickstart my DIY mechanic shenanigans.
Impressive collection of Ford's I've got to say... I hope to get to that point some day. The only two dream cars I've wanted were a 77 F250, and a 60s Cadillac Hearse. I've already got one and once I get this truck in decent daily driving shape- I may look for a hearse in the next two years or so.
Well get on your chapter forum and chat up some NY folks. You might even have 1 or 2 as a neighbor and that is always nice to possible have a hand or an extra idea come troubleshooting time. I have known some of my state chapter folks for 12 years. Heck I even invited some of them to my wedding. We trade truck parts, lend a helping hand and have epic FTE get togethers! This is our local hero and his monster truck. We did this in his garage/shop parking lot.
Yes we are a bunch of Ford truck nuts.
This is exactly what it's all about. I love these photos man! As soon as I'm approved for the NY Chapter- I'd love to meet some like minded folks in my state and learn as much as I can. This is all so freaking exciting I can hardly contain my glee. I'll make sure this truck can be as safe as can be once my daughter can drive (she's only just turned six months so she has a ways to go).
Thank you. Ahh I miss living in NM. Used to live in Las Cruces for a few years.
I wouldn’t need the plow in Albuquerque but I split my time between here and the mountains of southern Colorado were it would come in useful.
‘This is one night of snowfall.
Here is how I did that:
