Attempting to swap the old 60 amp 2g alternator for a 130 amp 3g. I've done this swap before on my 94' big block, but for whatever reason this 2g case seems to be different. One of the ears is offset whereas on any of the 130 amp 3g's I can find the mounting ears are 180 degrees opposed. I am able to locate 95 amp 3g's that would work, but I am not able to find any 130 amps. Anybody know of any 130 amp 3g alternators that have the same offset design?
On my '92 300 and my '92 302, both alternators had to be re'clocked for the mounting ears to line up. It's really simple. Just remove the 3 screws holding the case together, carefully split it and rotate it whichever direction you need it to be. Been years since I had to do it, so I can't remember offhand what the position should be.

I'm not referring to the clock position of the plugs as I have to problem reclocking the alternator. Rather I'm referring to the mounting hole positions, as shown here.
The mounting bracket appears to have both sets of holes according to that video. If yours does not then you may have to source a later model year bracket perhaps.
Ok...yeah, it took me a moment once I saw the pics. My memory is fuzzy and I had to think about the '92 300 alternator swap. I had to change the mounting by repositioning the alternator and changing where the bolt went through. I know what you mean now. I just simply got a different length bolt and used the other hole to to thread the bolt in for the different position.
I wish I hadn't sold the truck. I would shoot a pic of how I mounted it. It's fairly easy and if I remember, I didn't have to grind anything to make it work. I had to remove it a few times for some repairs to other parts of the truck, but it worked easy.
I believe I got a 3G out a '99 Thunderbird or a mercury sable V6 to do the swap. Had $50 in it from the JY, 130 amp.

I don't know if you watched the video the whole way through because at the end he is only able to get 1/2 mounting points attached (it is possible that the Taurus alternator is bigger than the mustang one I was trying to use but I'll check up on that later on. I will update you
