I oiled a dry air filter

I found out my new to me truck has a Banks CAI. When I checked the air filter it was dirty and had caused the airflow indicator to move a couple notches so I cleaned it. I assumed it was an oil type filter so I re-oiled it after cleaning and drying. After doing some research I think it was actually a dry filter. The reason I think this is I noticed the material was much thicker than normal when cleaning it. I assume that nothing is necessarily wrong with oiling it and the only real issue is that I will have to clean the filter sooner. What do you all think?

I’d clean it again, get the oil out of it and dry it out.

Call BANKS, they will tell you the filter is no longer usable. That applies to all dry filters, there is no way to remove the oil.
