I have a 2011 and 2012 6.7s that are DEF/DPF deleted with SCT X4 tuners. The 2012 had it all done to it when I got it. The 2011 was stock when bought and I did the the delete and tune. Both are running custom tunes but there is a lot of difference in the two trucks. The 2011 I deleted and tuned runs about like any other deleted & tuned I have been around. The 2012 I have is the strongest deleted/tuned truck I and my friends have been around and consistently gets 20-21 mpg.. I put the 2011 on "race" and it still wont run like the 2012.
So I would like to know if there is a way of telling the origin of the custom tune in the 2012 so I could put it on the 2011 and another potential 6.7 to be. I checked the device info on SCT and both are custom tune 57, married and 5 unlocks left. The tune on the 2012 is listed as DDBZ1AT *TVDDOFD*. Anyone know it's origin? Can you pay the "divorce" fee to SCT and use that same custom tune on other trucks? Any other options out there? So few SCT dealers are listed out there as doing custom tunes.
I remember there being an issue between tuning my first used 6.0 in 2013 and the second one in 2016. But I thought things had loosened up again. guess not
So if SCT unmarries a tuner, can you transfer a custom tune to another truck?
The little I am picking up and understanding is if you even update the tuner the custom tunes disappear so keep it offline and away from WiFi or you are sol.

I was just going to add that what I've heard is the same. The update must freeze the tuner or erase the files. But it's definitely doing something to prevent those delete tunes from being used again.
Hmmm, it sounds like be happy with one really good mpg and running truck and call it good. It is hard to wrap your head around how some custom tunes are so much better than others that it doesnt take a dyno to tell the difference.
Any chance the 2012 has a 2015 turbo and fuel pump? That might explain why it runs so much stronger than the 2011.
It only had 59K on it when I got it so would assume it is pure 2012 and was a late year 2012. The 2011 has the original turbo so it has never had the upgrade but it rolls only half the smoke of the 2012 so feel sure it is in the custom tune.
The 2011 started losing more power, having lower boost and blowing more smoke with no CEL In tearing in to it, I found a melted vane actuator control plug on the back of the turbo. The heat shield cover for the plug was intact so dont know why it melted. It now has power but it is hard to compare this chassis cab F350 with crane body weighing 13k to the 2012 super cab F250 bare pickup. MPG is a respectable 13.5 with 13k bare truck and 12 with trailer at 21k GVW
Any one else ever have melted one of these plugs? It was melted so badly that I couldnt determine wire polarity and Ford was no help for a schematic. I had to tear down the 2012 to determine correct polarity.
