Yes you can return to stock with the SCT tuners. There are a number of shops to buy custom tunes from. Innovative Diesel performance seams to be popular shop.
and with any sct can i return to stock before going to the stealer like the hypertech or my current diablo predator?
So let me get this right you want to return your truck to stock before you take it in for warranty work?
You expect the person that is working on it to be smart enugh to fix it, but dumb enugh to not notice you have been running a tuner?
Wasn't trying to give a life lesson and not trying to start a fight with any of these posts, but a lot of guys who provide accurate information on this forum are ford techs...and when you post on here wondering if this tuner will "spoof" the very guys you are trying to obtain information from, they will most likely take offense. I believe my first post was quite on topic, i was just trying to look out for a fellow ford guy with some information about the very tuner you were looking to purchase. The second post, however much it may sound like a life lesson was just my way of telling you it sucks getting caught in a lie about having a programmer...trust me.
But to answer your questions, tunes are available from many dealers and are usually obtained through email and then dowloaded to your computer with SCT LiveUpdater, a program provided with the tuner. The X3 is the SCT tuner that i own and i prefer it to the edge tuner for sure, never tried the hypertech, however i dont know many unhappy SCT owners. As far as which SCT the livewire has allegedly had some screen issues (freezing up and going blue) but the X3 will hold 3 custom tunes and save your stock tune (which can also be saved to your PC) so you can reload the stock tune.
thanks for that and i do apologize aswell. i wasnt meaning it to fool a tech or insult the ones here but if i have a problem with my truck it obviously wouldnt be properly diagnosed if i was running a tune thus why i would return to stock.
i have been reading up on this for a few days and have had/read so much crap that nevered needed to be posted in threads that lasted for 6pages wen if ppl stayed on topic 2 would have done.
thats my peace and please accept my apology
that being said does the x3 come with any tunes? or does it come blank and i buy em?
