Part Numbers for fuel tank foot.... etc?

Hello,
I have a 2005 6.0 that I suspect the foot in fuel tank has been damaged/ fallen off. PO told me that it is empty when gauge reads 1/4 full. I have noticed that gauge will vary while driving. Will show over the full line and then drop down to 1/2 full on a typical drive. So.... I am planning on dropping tank and replacing everything internally. Part numbers for what I need would be appreciated. Also, if there any upgrades that should be done I would live to hear about those also. Thank you

Mec.... Thank you. I have been reading up on repairing/ replacing the tank internals. Most seem to say the aftermarket /non oem stuff is marginal quality at best? Obviously this job is going to be a pia because of having to drop the tank. I’ve had others suggest a micro sump system from Beans diesel? This is an area that I have zero experience with and thank you for your input.

I had to pull the tank on the wife's Excursion because of clogged socks. The tank isn't that bad of a job to pull. Because she uses her truck everyday I opted to pick up a new sending unit and pickup foot from NAPA...to the tune of $375! After a year...just as the warranty expired...the gauge started doing funny things and now just stays on full. Many years ago I did the mod on my F350 tank pickup and it is just now starting to do some funny things relative to gauge readings...it will slowly come down to half, then go back up. So we are now running the trucks on mileage to fill up and looking around also to see if I can find just the sending units to replace...

Guardian..... thank you. That’s exactly what I am trying to avoid..... doing it more than once. A few guys on another forum suggested the Beans Diesel micro sump. Tank does not has to be dropped to do that mod. I wouldn’t mind dropping the tank and replacing everything if I knew it would last as long as the factory one did( 15 years). The one that’s giving me problems is on my wife’s 2005 Ex. It is a daily driver for her to run my son around in. I have been keeping an eye on mileage for refills but would like to make it easier on me/her and fix it. The micro sump looks like a good option but I haven’t fully researched it yet.

I would rather drop an Excursion tank than fool with the truck bed tanks...unless you have a fork lift and raise the bed to access the tank from the top. I took the hose loose at the fuel pump and ran another hose to fuel containers. Turned the key on and let the pump work the fuel out of the tank to get it as empty as possible. The toughest part of the tank is the large screw on access on the top...getting that off and especially on. I won't even consider cutting a whole in the bottom of the tank...but that's just me.
