This along with a bunch of other rusty iron is listed on Craigslist. I don't know what it is but I think it would make for a cool run about project. Maybe Bobby's next project
Bob,
I'm with you, I like it. Judging from the ad, I'll bet the guy thinks he's sitting on a pot of gold and expects to retire to the Bahamas off of his stash of stuff
What did I do?! If anything I helped promote his sales. I know, one of us rust hoarders when out and bought all of his "patina" projects and now he's headed for Tahiti!
What got my attention was this chopped in half Buick. I'd like it to hang on the way in my shop. I wouldn't pay more than scrap price for it though, maybe $20 at most.
Bob, I have a 35 Chevy project that never got off the ground that looks similar to that Buick but without all the damage (and both sides are still attached).
I like many others here I have other multiple projects and all have been on suspension for way too long. along with my '48/52 F-4 I have a '37 Buick I really need to get back on before I croak.
What I started with
After replacing the body and frames, engine and drive line (I basically bought a parts car first) I put it to sleep at this point.
I put a lot of work into this car, forming new patch panels for about 30% of the car including rebuilding the rear quarter panels, rockers and complete trunk. The body on the original car was a lot worse than this one.
Sadly I think the value of these old cars have fallen quite a bit. This low mileage, 13K 1937 Buick just sold for just a little over $10K at a Mecum auction. I dared to figure in how much I have stuck into my Buick I probably have at least $3K, not including all of my time. Just have to think about doing any work on these old vehicles as doing it for the love of the hobby.:

I agree, looks and this and says "There's my retirement fund". But hey, you got to give him some credit, at least he's not hoarding them to "restore some day". Unless the old man hoarded them and croaked and now the kid thinks he's sitting on fortune.
I am fairly familiar with that part of the country and would venture a guess that all this junk came to him free of charge. He might be thinking that it is worth something to the right person but getting it from the Arizona desert to wherever it is that you are located will add a lot to the price.
