Intermitent Tach and Voltmeter After GearVendors Install
1988 F250 7.3 IDI C6 4.10s with a Gearvendors unit. 93,000 miles. Rust free.
I just did a gear vendors install.
Tach and voltmeter worked perfectly before.
Gear vendors unit uses a fuse tap for the 12v+ switched.
I pushed on the fuse panel when installing the fuse tap.
Now my tach and voltmeter sometimes dont work. If its not working all I have to do is push on the fuse panel and it comes back to life. Nothing looks loose.
Anyone seen this before? Advice on where to start?
When trying to get my power point to work I discovered that the fuse retainer/holder in the fuse block had overheated so many times that the plastic had fatigued.
When pushing the fuse into the block, it pushed the retainer out & the blade did not split the fingers of the retainer that holds the individual legs of the fuse.
I had to release the block, get my hand & finger behind it & support the retainer before pushing the fuse in.
