5 year Anniversary.....Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Today marks the day, 5 years ago I started the project of restoring my Grandpas truck. Wow that time went fast. Just an ole farm boy turned Firefighter, with no restoration experience, I decided to tackle the project. You guys were all so welcoming, encouraging, and helpful during this journey. There have been many ups and downs along the way but I wouldn't change a thing about the path I chose. I knew it would take time and $$$$ and that it did! LOL The project is not totally done yet but then again, are they ever? With that said, I just wanted to Thank You to everyone who has contributed to my Thread, sent me personal messages, and helped me along the way. Even though I have only met 3 members I feel like I know all of ya. I guess my next project will have to be a '48-'56 Truck just so I can stay with this group! You all have a great Thanksgiving! Dave
Outstanding job, Dave! You have a great looking truck! And you're right, they are he did done. Just last night I noticed the accelerator return spring is not hooked to the correct spot on the carb. Little stuff you will need to do will pop up.
Yes, I have been following John's build. He has great skills that I only dream of. I'd like to try some body work at some time. Just didn't want to with this special build.
5 Years! it's hard to believe it's been that long since we first met you and your truck.
Getting as far as you have in that time voids you from joining many of us in the procrastinators club. Shoot, I have parts I bought to install that have sat longer than that.
This spring, I need to take a road trip with my truck up to see you. Your truck wasn't quite so pretty when I saw it last.
