Edge Insight CS2

Hello,

Late last summer I purchased an Edge Insight CS2 for my truck in my signature. I like it and it does what I expect except for one thing. While the literature on it says it has a PID for “Distance since Last Regen” it does not appear in the PID list on the device. I’ve talked with Edge Tech support several times and they’ve uploaded updated software on my device (latest time was today). The missing PID is still missing.

I can live with it as is but would like it to display the distance since last regen PID. As a last ditch effort before I resign myself to live with it as is I thought I’d reach out to the FTE community to see if anyone has encountered this previously and if there is any fix.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I bought my CTS 2 back in 2016 when I bought my new dodge Cummins. When I bought my 19 6.7l I had to update my software with my computer but it works perfectly. Mine DOES show “ ARD” average regen distance.

Thanks for the reply. Mine also shows “ARD” but according to Edge it’s also supposed to show “miles since last regen”. Their tech support seems to agree, but can’t get that PID to display.

oh sorry about that. I haven’t even looked for the miles since last regen. I just use my tripometer 1 when it starts regen and reset it each time. That way I can kind of tell when one is coming. Most of the time mine will regen when my DPF gets to 100 percent before the 500 miles. On a few long drives it will hit 500 miles before 100 percent.

NP. I’ve been doing the same.

Not sure why the need to worry about the distance. It is going to regen when ready. My CTS2 reaches 100% at 2.85 gr/l and will regen at 3.45 gr/l. If i shut the truck off when it is between these two amounts, the % full blanks out. Also it can regen between 200 and 500 miles since the end of the last regen even if the % full is less than 100%.

You can also turn on the Exhaust Filter screen in the IPC. Even then, the truck might regen prior to 100%.

Thanks Larry. I ran a ScanGuage on this truck since new in July 2014. Driving it during the past six years I’ve become pretty familiar with its regen tendencies. They do vary depending on driving conditions but it’s usually around 450-500 miles between regens due to the trucks primary purpose being to tow campers, the latest one being our fifth wheel we got a couple years ago.

I’m not worried about anything, just got use to seeing “distance since last regen” displayed on the scangage. Since the Edge CS2 is advertised as having that functionality I’d like to know if anyone in this community knows how to access that PID since their tech support doesn’t seem to know. Overall, I like the Edge CS2 better than the Scangauge. It’s all good.

I know the PID is there as I monitor it ( I use a blue tooth OBD tool with my phone). The PID I use is called "Distance Traveled Since Last Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration" and it is under the ECM PID's. Not sure if that helps at all or not but the PID does exist on the truck side (2019 F250)

Yep. That PID is certainly there on the truck side. Does anyone know how to access it via the Edge CS2?

Thanks.
