New to the 4x4 Subforum. Quadravan Build

Hi, I spend most of my time in the diesel forums. Recently I acquired a full quadravan kit. My plan is to install it on my 1988 E250 7.3 IDI Clubwagon. It has all the front and rear suspension, steering parts, and front axle with brakes and secondary parts. What it didn't have was a transfer case and driveshafts.

I also got an NP208F t-case recently, with the front driveshaft. I looked into the 203 or 205, but since this isn't going to be a heavy duty operation, I figure the 208 would suffice for my purposes.

I wanted to convert my GVOD from where it's attached to my C6, and install it to the end of my t-case, so I called gear vendors to see if they have the adapter. To my surprise, they still have a few of the 208 adapters.

I have a few questions though. My NP208F has a fixed yoke, but GV says there adapter fits with a slip yoke configuration. I read on different posts that some guys had 208F's with slip and some had 208F's with fixed. Knowing how the overdrive mates with the C6 shaft, I don't see how my fixed setup would insert into the GVOD as is. Do I have to modify the 208's tailshaft to fit with the GVOD? Also, I have been searching for part numbers regarding the ball joints, tie rods, shocks, and bearings for that quadravan kit. The parts are old, and probably would work fine just installing them as is, but since I got it all apart, I don't see the harm in doing all the suspension/steering parts now. Also, the PO of the quadravan parts said it was supporting a 460, which is good for me because I'm running a similarly sized/weighted 7.3L IDI. But I don't trust PO's, so if this came off a small block gasser, then I know the front quadravan coils would bottom out immediately. Anyone know the coil part numbers or specs so I can be prepared if things go haywire?

I can't help you too much. "They" say that used transfer cases are pretty cheap. If that's true I wouldn't go to too much trouble to kludge in the one you have if it might be a lot more straightforward to get a transfer case that's a better fit with your plans.

Also you might want to check out the van forum. There are a few Quadravans there, and overall a lot more activity than there is on this board. But there is good expertise here so it's not a bad place to be either.
