2011 F-250 SD Brake and Tail Lights Not Working With Headlights On

I purchased a 2011 F-250 SD yesterday and everything checked out during inspection. I did a walk around and checked brake lights and headlights and they all worked. I drove home last night and after parking I noticed I had no lights in the rear of the truck. Today I noticed the brake lights work as long as the headlights aren’t on. Has anyone else had this same problem? If so, what was the issue? I checked the fuses and they are not blown. I was thinking it may be a bad ground. Any help would be appreciated.

Well given your conflict with headlights this is unlikely to be your problem.....but it'll take 2 minutes to check and give ya a BTT.....if there's ANY reason to remotely suspect the bed has EVER been pulled, check the connections behind the rear bumper along left framerail. I've seen all manner of weird symptoms if these have not been FULLY seated and sometimes ya gotta push 'em together REALLY hard ....other times the tiniest bit of dirt won't allow them to solidly "click" together and thus they won't stay tight, slipping apart with the gentlest pull by hand.
