wiper speed

Since I only got mismatched parts in boxs I was wondering if the heater motor and the wiper motor would typically have 1 or 2 speeds . The parts I have from different years . One of the wiper assemblies was marked 53-56 and the heaters were a combination of different years and types .

53-56 Ford heaters were 2 speed, low and hi.

Interesting factoid you all should know. The 54 blowers first notch was high, the second notch was low. The 55 blowers first notch was low and high was the second notch or pulled out the whole way.

The two speed function for the heater must be in the switch ? And as far as the wipers , I am attempting to make 1 good motor out of 2 but they have completely different park mechanisms . If I'm looking at them correctly they have constant power ( ignition on ) and two separate grounds , one with a gap for the park function and one that grounds constantly with the wiper switch in the on position . So if they also have 2 speeds it must also be a function of the wiper switch .

I forgot to answer the wiper question. Yes, the wipers, at least the electric ones that both my trucks have, have two speeds.

Do you have an owners manual? The small kind that came with the truck? There's not a lot in it like in modern cars but it does explain things like that.

This one is on eBay now for 12 bucks. Midfifty or Carpenter might have them for less.

Thanks abe . No I don't have a manual but my truck has very little original equipment so wouldn't be a great help . Since I have no switches and only collected parts from the po there was no way of determining if either had multiple speeds , which would have to be in the switches as both motors are for single input .
