Tom, here's the 56 you were looking for. Or is it in too good of shape for you? It's in Missouri. We have some MO FTE'ers in the Show Me State that could look at it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-Ford-F...UAAOSwP0Zd9-J8
They say it's a barn find Original seat looks great! Looks like it has some mouse urine damage.
but you better hurry, only 1 day and 17 hours left
Hi Abe,
Thanks for the link on this '56. From the looks of it, it does have a real 'barn find' look in the first pictures. And the condition is about right. It would have to be completely taken apart and I do like that sort of long-term project. I'll check into the auction late tomorrow night to see where it's headed as for price.
I appreciate the tips and leads.
Well the truck sold this afternoon. ($7,400) It quickly bid upwards and exceeded my budget for a sight-unseen near-total restoration candidate. I figured the shipping would be about $1,800 on top of the sales price. Almost ten grand as a non running project starting point, had to make me pause without a serious consultation from the house commanding officer and ways & means commitee (a.k.a wife). The seller must be happy. For most of the years the truck spent in that barn it was unheard of to fetch that sort of money. Times sure have changed and that is very likely a realistic price for an original & complete '56 shortbed.
Maybe the new owner will be on here soon!
I'll keep looking for a new project and Abe, thanks for sending that along.
Tom
