Searched the forum and didn't see a thread on this yet. Just saw this headline while searching through the news. Apparently there's more technology that's being researched to clean up emissions but this time it's something that seems beneficial. Says at the bottom Ford has already bought into the idea.
Interesting article. Ford will pay to help advance the technology. I'm gonna' throw out a WAG that the ducted injector tech may be an effort to inject fuel at a different angle or pattern to help burn the fuel more completely. Think back to when swirl-port heads were developed for gas engines ... can create equal HP with less fuel ... better air/fuel atomization. Now I'll go way out on a limb and hope the development leads to legally deleting my DEF.
very promising indeed. Wondering how long it will take to get to market. Also what a aftermarket retrofit will cost when ready. Sounds like a phenomenal breakthrough....
I like hearing about this type of innovation. The group that developed this tech has a youtube channel that I intend to follow. I'll also subscribe to this thread and try to contribute any new info that I come across. Many thanks to the OP!
There is an article from a science journal on this tech that I have linked in this post. Not light reading but not to bad either. https://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...06261917308644
