I am looking for a reliable dealer from whom to buy all glass, (Front and Back windshield and side glass and vent glass), for my 1950 F-1 1/2 ton. Any suggestions would be greatly apricated. I have check through ebay and amazon but the reviews aren't that great Thank you in advance.
I’d suggest calling Chuck Mantiglia at Chuck’s Trucks. He sells glass with the correct Ford “bugs” as were original. Plus Chuck is a forum member and a great resource for all aspects of your truck. Stu
I had all my glass except the rear window cut locally. My original rear window was still useable. If you have glass to use as patterns, that would be the least expensive route.

I used Chuck for the first time a few weeks back I wish I knew about him before! I wouldn’t waste your time l anywhere else especially if detail is important to you!
I have been on the puter trying to find the pattern for the glass with the thought of having it cut but have been unable to locate the pattern. Thanks for the assist.
The local glass shops are hit and miss with replacing our simple pieces. Mine ended up buying the rear glass I ordered (with the original as a pattern! ) from who-knows-where and reselling it to me. More expensive and slower. Be smarter than me and confirm the locals can handle the work.

I had a side window made locally, and it was "OK", but cost the same as factory-made. Later I ordered a new windshield and another side glass from LMC, they were made in Taiwan (which is generally better than PRC, IMO) and they were as nice as any modern glass. The edges were very smooth and straight. The windshield also had a "bug" etched in it confirming compliance with DOT, which is a factor if you have inspections. The fit was perfect on both pieces.
I have mine cut locally - the owner looked at the radius curve on the windshield bottom and said his guys needed the practice. He was willing to break some in order to improve his staff. That's a great local shop.
The glass btw is just flat "safety sheet" available in clear or several tints.

I had that thought about a regular glass company doing work that they might not know much about. Checked with a couple around here and when asked if they could do it, all I got was a blank look.
I bought my tinted glass set for the F3 from a seller on EBay called 'autocity1958'.
The glass was of good quality, contained the entire set (doors, vents, front & rear) and fit very well.
The price with shipping was very reasonable, and the glass was packed very securely. I had enough bubble wrap left over from their shipping boxes to use for projects - heck I still have bubble wrap left over.
The glass came with removable stickers that indicate the part number, tint value, and dimensions so that if I ever break a piece - I can match the tint color and shape pretty quick.
I'd definitely buy from them again.
I have bought antique car glass from the local glass shop and it was not as good as this set I bought from autocity.

Just to add my 2¢, some years back I had a windshield cut for my F-2 after I forgot about the four useless tabs in the windshield frame and broke my perfect factory window. I called around and not one auto glass place around here would cut glass any more. All they want to do is install packaged glass for new cars. I ended up going to a shower door place to have them cut the glass. They knew about the highway safety glass for the windshield, which is different than the glass used in the doors and back window. They cut the glass perfectly and had it done the next day after I brought the broken one in to be used as a pattern.
I am getting ready to order glass for my 56, along with a bunch of seals and door parts for the project this winter. I am thinking of ordering from Mid-Fifty as I have had good luck with them in the past. I figured if I order all the stuff from one place if there is a problem they will be more likely to fix it. I need the door, vent and rear glass, my windshield is OK. It looks like I may be able to get the glass cheaper from some places on Ebay but I also kinda figure that maybe paying a little more from Mid Fifty may be cheap insurance, I assume that since they specialize in our 48-56 trucks that they should also know more about them than a huge auto restoration place like NPD or others. I really don't care about having the correct logo on the windows. I don't know of any place around here that could cut the glass, and again I could see a job like that at a local glass shop being put "on the back burner" and taking too long to get completed. That seems to be the way things go around here... I realize shipping will be huge also which is another reason I was thinking about one vendor for all the parts - I think that shipping gets cheaper as the price of the order goes up. I am awaiting a new catalog from Mid Fifty and I will see. What do you guys think of them for glass?? Thanks Greg.
