horn button installation

Need advice on installing horn button on 1947 Ford pickup steering wheel.

Align the tabs on the button with the slots on the wheel, push the button down while turning it to the right.

problem solved

After looking more carefully I discovered the issue. The retainer ring was damaged to the point where the shape of it did not allow the three tabs to engage the ring. Unfortunately I cannot find a source for a new retainer ring.
